The inmates pay Rs.800/- per month for their stay in rooms having at least 5 beds and 3 single rooms for Rs.1000/- per head. Most of the inmates are paying for their stay by their family members who have admitted them in this home – It is truly sad as these ladies are really old and sick and need a lot of love and care.
What we saw was that their room wall fans are in urgent need of cleaning and servicing – we have told the in-charge to arrange this to be done at the earliest as summer is just round the corner and ANAVI will take care of the expense. Mosquito nets are a must in the home and we will need to donate at least 6 nets for the inmates who don’t have one. All the old ladies asked for a cover bed spread – which we should oblige them with. Otherwise they had no complaints and have adjusted to their place of stay gracefully and with dignity.
Mrs Nana Roy – also a very kind and a senior citizen herself – requested us to help out
– In the summer months with their electricity bill which is between Rs.4,000/- and Rs.5,000/-. per month.
– 5 litres of Mustard oil / month
– 35 kgs of Atta / month
Anavi will discuss this further and take a decision shortly.
We left this home realising one thing “the inmates were happy away from their own Homes”. We have a lot to learn from these grand old ladies. We salute their spirit. May God bless them always.
