Our visit to Apon Ghar on the 28th March 2012 was as always a touching and beautiful experience. The inmates total 17 – were all awaiting us and had big smiles when we met each one of them in their rooms – most of them stay in their beds only – due to old age and need to relax as much as possible. Some of the ladies joined us for a few photographs which can be viewed on our site aesmanavi.org.

The first thing that the inmates pointed out to us were the wall fans and ceiling fans which were well serviced and cleaned and the breeze was immense – just like new fans – they said. The next best thing was the donation of 20 kgs atta, One big packet of Chira and 5 Litres of Mustard oil. The lady in charge and the inmates were grateful to ANAVI for these items as there is a daily requirement for this.

To be able to meet the inmates, talk to them, see their smiles and not hearing a single complaint lifted up our spirits too – and we thank God for these Ladies – who are happy with whatever they have and smile through their days and nights spent in the old age home.
