Visit to Apon Ghar

On 17 th of August ’12, five members of Anavi (Bernie Mendonca, Abira Roychowdhury, Sangita Saha, Sangita Mukherjee, and Meeta Chakrabarty) went to Apon Ghar the old-age home in Thakurpukur. Now the number of inmates are 15. We gave them 2 Kg Horlics and 5 Lts mustard oil for this month. we also took cakes and sweets for them. As usual the ladies of the home were very much pleased to see us. we went there around 5 Pm. The inmates were drinking tea at that time. We also had tea with them. Then we spent around one hour of quality time with them. Some of them shared their life’s story with us. Two of the inmates are there for last 13years. Once in a while they visit their relatives but most of the time they are staying here. We told them we will arrange a day out with them in November. We want to take them to Belur and Dakshinshwer.
