Teacher’s Day Celebration
The month of September is special to all as we celebrate Teacher’s day.” Mata Pita Guru Deivam”. This Sanskrit line simply states the importance of a guru or teacher in a persons life. The teacher comes before God. It’s the teacher who shows the path, guides and lights up our lives with their knowledge. Mrs. Purna Roy Choudhury is one such teacher who has been a guiding hand to all members of Anavi. She with her sheer determination and simplicity has given meaning to Anavi’s endeavour. On 5th of September the members of Anavifelicitate Purnadi. She was given a sari, a mobile phone. A small and a humble way to thank her for all her help and support.
On 10th September Anavi member Sangita Mukherjee celebrated her son’s birthday by serving lunch to the residents of AponGhar, an old age home in Behala.
On 13th September Anavi member Sangeeta Saha celebrated her son’s birthday by serving lunch to the residents of Children’s Welfare Association, Sarsuna. Anavi members visited Topsia Creche to take measurements of the children. Anavi gifts new dresses to these children for Durga Puja. These dresses will be bought on 21st September and these will be handed over next month before the pujas.
