In recent times, Dehradun has seen an increasing number of Dengue cases and the people have been running from pillar to post in search of blood. As per IMA blood Bank there is always a shortage of blood and more so in this season.
Keeping this in mind Anglo-Eastern Ship Management Pvt. Ltd., organized a blood donation Camp at its 20, New Road Office on 03rd September 2016.
The blood donors were mainly from the seafaring community and their friends and relatives. The success of this social, initiative has ensured many such events in the future, said Regional Manager, Manan Oberai of AESM- Dehradun Staff.
In all 92 units of blood was collected from 98 people belonging to different age groups from youth to people upto 60 years. Seafarer’s from Dehradun Seafarer Welfare Association (DSWA) also contributed for the event.
The main idea behind this event was to educate people about the importance of donating blood, as even in this age people are reluctant to come forward to donate blood. AESM had been educating and promoting this event on various platforms for the last 20 days so the people can come forward and help in this noble cause.
Present on occasion were Manan Oberai, Shilpa Thapa, Swasti Agarwal of Anglo Eastern Ship Management along with Sanjay Rawat of IMA Blood Bank.
