Charity begins at home — Anglo Eastern, being a big family has given meaning to it through ANAVI. Anavi is in fact a commendable initiative of Anglo Angloeastern, which has always been compassionate to the needs of less fortunates. Anglo Kochi is extremely proud and happy to be a part of this, and took their first step with the support of a bunch of enthusiastic ladies, wives of officers – employed in AESM.
As part of their maiden venture, they had visited a number of orphanages and destitute homes in and around Cochin and shortlisted “Theruvuvelicham”, a shelter for the abandoned souls living on the street. Mr. Murukan, a truly amazing personality is the kind heart behind this idea. Previously an auto driver, he is now totally immersed in the charitable task of rescuing needy people from the street, be it beggars, mentally unstable or abandoned fellow beings. Once rescued, these people are well-taken care of with medical aid, food and shelter.
With the ever increasing number of inmates and their escalating needs, Anglo Kochi took the initiative and handed over to Theruvuvelicham 6 Nos. of iron cots along with rexin covered mattresses, pillows and sheets on 4th June 2016.
Anglo Kochi remains committed to its cause of extending a helping hand and spreading smiles among unfortunate beings in our society. We have miles to go before we rest.
Best regards
