The year 2020, started with a good note with many Activities happening during this period of time.
Navneet Foundation is a not-for-profit organization which has ambitious goals of working towards an impartial, humanitarian, and sustainable society in India.
Their ethos of supporting ideas, sharing solutions, and expanding opportunities closely matches how Anavi works.
By End Dec 2020 when the first wave of Covid 19 was in the decline we were faced with a Unique challenge of how to expand our base in the field of education.
Both our schools at Asalpha and Chandivalli under Jhanvi had been affected very badly and there was zero physical attendance. Challenging as it was, the teachers at Jhanvi innovated and started to conduct classes using mobile phones.
Not to be left behind, Anavi decided to support these efforts in coordination with Navneet foundation. Navneet foundation provides access to digital learning for all subjects over licensed program.
The program involves collection of mobile number of prospective students and once this is done an activation code for full access of the curriculum for the respective grade is provided to the students.
Focus is generally on the higher grades who were most affected by the ongoing crisis with the objective to not have a break in their educational cycle which was well maintained prior to COVID.
Soon into the project in Jan 2021, it was realised that licensed access to the curriculum served only one strata of the children involved , our job was not complete till we went across and provided unhindered access to all.
After all, Anavi is all about expanding opportunities available.
In Jan 2021 after we got 100 children enrolled and provided with licensed software for their respective grades, we commenced work on unhindered access to digital education for all.
In Feb 2021 we were successful in setting up a computer centre at Chandivalli centre and 11 computers from our office were installed here.
Out Mumbai IT team made a fantastic effort in such trying times to get this up and running in no time at all.
To our own surprise Navneet rose up to this occasion seeing our zeal and excitement for this project and gave us license free access to 8th and 9th grade curriculum worth INR 1 Lack free of charge for 1 year.
At this time we have 100 children who are enrolled under a licensed version of the program and provide free and unhindered access to other students enrolled at our centre.
Our future program once the 2nd wave dies down is to repeat this structure at the Ashalpha centre where we will provide computers and internet connection for the set up.
At this time the Navneet foundation is monitoring the usage of the software remotely and we are happy to note that the average usage exceeds the average hours used by other communities where this program is being run.
