Environmental sustenance, its nurturing, enhancement, and protection has always been on the fore front of Anglo Eastern’s Visions.
Today our company is CO2 neutral and in 2021 supported climate projects which offset 3647tCo2e (Net Change in Greenhouse Gas Emissions).
In 2021 we also worked with a company – Co2 Logic and helped save 7,81,225 trees in Zambia.
Our CSR arm Anavi has the same vision and has been pursuing a project of organising a plantation drive within the city for last 4 years with many near misses on success.
Our constant follow up finally yielded positive results in August and a successful tree plantation drive carried out on the 23rd of Sep at the Aarey reserved forest area.
Aarey has a unique and a fragile ecosystem, it boasts of more than 4 lakh trees along with a variety of birds and animals within its enclosed ecosystem. The jungle also serves as a much-needed lung for
city. When planning the drive, we were conscious of this fact and wanted to leave the diversity of Aarey untouched.
Project was planned with a reputed organisation “Call for Garden LLP” which has been working within Aarey for last 10 years. It has extensive knowledge of this area and its local diversity.
With our vision as a guidance and assistance from the organisation we set out to procure trees which would guarantee us 100% viability of survival.
Trees, 10 -13 years of age of local variety were procured and support from local population was sought.
The site was chosen keeping locals in confidence and a two-year contract has been executed with them for protection and viability of planted trees.
A big thanks to colleagues from all departments who attended and contributed to this noble cause. A special thankyou to Mr Manish Saxena, Mr Vineet Gupta, Capt Gulraj, Capt Anil Rai, Mr Rohann Martin and Capt Sameer Sablok who led from the front. Mr Maneesh Pradhan could not attend due to some urgent work, but he was a constant guidance and a force behind this project and its success.
