India is a country with more than one billion people, and just one-third of them can read and write .Rapidly growing size of population, shortages of teachers, books, basic amenities, and insufficient public funds to cover education costs are some of the nation’s toughest challenges. This is where Children in India are facing the basic challenges.
For the underprivileged people in India, education is perceived as a high-priced luxury.
Keeping this in mind ANAVI Dehradun members took an initiative to assist the school children at Raipur school for the underprivileged located at the outskirts of Dehradun on 20th March 2017.
58 children were provided with white canvas school shoes, lunch, ice-creams. A treat to lunch and ice cream bought a big smile on all their faces. A fun filled football match was indeed the highlight of day.
Seeing children going home after school wearing new shoes was the most satisfying days of our lives. We thanks all the Dehradun seafarers who have contributed to the Anavi foundation.
