6^th October 2022 was indeed a very special day as we celebrated the World Elder’s Day (01^st Oct) with the elders / Residents of the old age home run by the little sisters of the poor. The visit commenced from 3:15 PM onwards first by serving the elders with snacks taken by ANAVI team members followed by a fun time of Housie. Our visit to Old Age Home made it possible for us to express our affection to all the elderly people present on that day. We witnessed the heart-warming excitement in their eyes, as innocent as that of a child’s, with housie tickets in their hands and awaiting the call out of numbers in the hope of winning a prize. Prizes, although small brought them great joy. The smiles on their faces filled our hearts with love and gratitude for having experienced the stir of emotions within our inner selves. During our personal interaction with the elders, we received many blessings as they only longed for the presence of some caring people who would make them feel loved and important. We barely spent few hours there which has left us with a lifetime of joy and peace in our hearts. Housie may just be a game for many but for them it was a most awaited lively session.
