17th June: Anavi 8th Anniversary Celebrations
“What we have been able to do is very small compared to what you have been doing for the last so many years, but we would like to contribute further in whatever way we can” , Maneesh Pradhan speaking on behalf of Anavi.
The occasion was the inauguration of the dining hall at Voice of World which Anavi has completely renovated. The people at the institute were at loss of words at how to thank Anavi for this gesture.
Anavi celebrated its 8th Anniversary on June 16th this year. Like every year, we celebrated with a difference.
The day started with a visit to Thakurpukur Cancer Hospital. We have a special place for this institution and the kids here. Like every year we cut the cake with the children here and gave them gifts. These young brave hearts, fighting cancer, make us look at our lives with a completely different perspective. Even a small gesture of kindness on from our side makes a world of difference.
Next stop – Voice of World; We have been associated with this institute for a year and half supplying them with monthly rations of mustard oil. This year though, we took our association a step further and renovated their dining cum cooking area. This was a perfect occasion for cutting the ribbon. This was followed by a presentation showcasing the work of this institute. Next came series of performances by the differently abled children.
On this day we also promised a sound system for their dining room and sponsorship of the prizes for their upcoming event on Hellen Keller’s birthday. We will be giving them their monthly rations of the mustard oil around end of the month.
Our final stop for the day was at Cremers Foundation Sarsuna. The dining hall renovated by Anavi for this institute is being well utilized by the girls there.
As we step into year number nine, we look forward to making lives better for greater number of underprivileged, not only in Kolkata, but in all cities where Anavi has been able to reach.
We hope for continued support and greater participation from our well-wishers and donors. Wishing many happy returns and many more to come!
