Through “Anavi”, we prioritise children health and education, girl childcare and development and care of the aged & destitute.
In 2019 just prior to when pandemic began, Seabird graciously helped us organise a Health check- up camp at “Our Lady’s Home boys’ shelter”.
The event was a tremendous success primarily because our efforts helped the shelter get clarity on the health status and pointedly focus on health of the children basis findings and use funds judiciously.
The shelter unfortunately could not sustain during pandemic and had to shut down only to begin operations again last month. We have been advised that about 120 boys have returned, but some are in poor health condition, and some are being sent back home. Here we took the initiative to examine these poor boys by making an earnest request to Seabird Medicare centre to help us in this venture.
As Usual Dr. Jacob Mathew (MD, DMM, DTCD, Consultant in Marine Medicine, Respiratory Med & Radio Diagnosis, Managing Director of Seabird Medicare centre) along with his team willingly volunteered to carry out the health check-up for the children.
A total of 83 children underwent medical examinations on 30th of July courtesy Seabird’s efforts and blessings. Father Elias in-charge of the Shelter home stated that the children were handled very gently and despite their natural fears for such tests the entire program went on very smoothly and with a lot of fun. At the end, some goodies were distributed from Anavi as well as Seabird Medicare centre.
~ Testimonial from Fr. Elias D’Souza – Director of the “Our Lady’s Home boys’ shelter”.
Thank you very much for giving off your time and conducting the medical camp (blood tests) for all our boys on the 30th of July 2022.
We really appreciate your dedication, concern & love for these children. It was very thoughtful of you all too to hand over snack bags to the kids.
During Holy Mass, prayer time, and the novena to Our Lady of Perpetual Help – We pray for the intentions and well-being of all our benefactors. You all will definitely be remembered at that time.
