I visited the above school this morning. During the summer vacation we had given them Rs.4000/- to have the class rooms white washed as they were in bad shape – I found that the classes looked so bright and clean after the white washing has been done – the children too looked happy to see their classes looking bright and good. The school reopened today after the summer vacation.

We arrived at the school and were greeted with a loud good morning by the children and their teachers. Onee Bhaumik, the Principal and her band of dedicated teachers were so happy to see us and to receive the exercise books for the children. Parivaar has given this school their Exercise books for the whole year.

We got to see their work and specially their drawings as it was the drawing class. Its amazing the talent these young ones have and were proud to show us their books. These poor children come from very low income group families but are doing a wonderful job by studying here and since this school is only from KG to Class II, they are helped with admission into a senior school after this. In fact Onee Bhaumk the Principal told us that they were proud that 8 students who passed out from this small school have done their Class X Boards this year.

Visit to Children’s Welfare Association School, Sarsuna

The Parivaar Ladies met at 1.30 pm on Saturday the 13th March and left together for the School – we got there at 2.30 pm. The kids who had met us on our earlier visit rushed out to greet us with big smiles on their faces.. This time, however, we were there to meet and teach the girls of Classes VI, VII & VIII.

Visit to Children’s Welfare Association School, Sarsuna

We visited the the school during the month of February. This School has classes for girls only from KG to Class X. It is also a hostel where the poorest of the poor are being educated and the children can be sponsored for their stay and fees. It would cost Rs.4,000/- per year for a child.

The girls were thrilled to see the Parivaar members and interacted with us with smiles on their faces and our hearts literally went out to these children. This programme was only for 78 girls from the KG to Class V. During our next visit we plan to cover the girls from Class VI to Class X.
