The month of June was altogether a special one for ANAVI as it celebrates its 9th birthday. It has been a major feat and a journey to cherish. Everyone associated with it has put in a lot of efforts to escalate ANAVI to such a commendable position.

ANAVI celebrated its 9th birthday in style by conducting a blood donation camp. The major intent of Anavi is to spread smiles to the underprivileged of the society. Hence, the best way to celebrate and rejoice the 9th Anniversary was to conduct a blood donation camp that does a world of good.

The Blood donation camp was conducted in association with the Thakurpukur Cancer hospital. ANAVI understands the importance of blood to the needy and hence, undertake such a noble cause. The blood donation was held on 16th June 2018 at AESM Kolkata premises. The event has become a regular event for ANAVI that happens every year. However, 2018 was a major feat owing to the number of blood donors. The registration touched the scale of 100 and 94 donated blood after the medical check-up. The big numbers happened due to the strong effort of the members. The smile on the faces of the donors and the members is a glaring example of the success of the blood camp. The arrangements were of a top-notch and enable to have a smooth conduct of the operations.

The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of ANAVI was held on the same date that is 16th June 2018 at the AESM Kolkata premises. The meeting was presided over by Mr. Maneesh Pradhan and the important matters were discussed considering the present and the future.

Apart from the activities mentioned above ANAVI members had a visit to the Voice of World. The members are always elated to visit the place and provide the mustard oil. It is not only about the distribution of mustard oil rather spreading happiness. The members visited the place and provided the mustard oil as per the normal course of activities.

Besides, like every year, Anavi sponsored the prizes at the annual event held on occasion of Helen Keller’s Birthday. Things that can be used on a daily basis like backpack, tiffin boxes and umbrellas were given as prizes in various categories. A total of 63 prizes were given away.

As we enter the 10th year, we thank for our well wishers and donors who have supported us along this journey. And pray for greater participation from them to help us reach further milestones.

ANAVI has always been a great selector in terms of diverting attention to the needy. A month back it diverted the attention to Seva Old age home where two homes operate under its flagship. After evaluating the condition and the scenario over there, it was decided by the members to visit the place and provide the needful things as the home was lacking in resources. In lieu of this, the members visited the place and distributed 40 pieces of bed sheets and nighties to the inmates of the two old age homes. The gifts delighted the heart of the inmates and provided a great satisfaction to the soul of the members. Since the condition was very shabby, it needed an urgent action and the members did it successfully.

ANAVI has always been a pioneer in helping others and tries different mechanism to spread cheers. It is devoted not only to the distribution of oil, food and other stuff rather has shown some commendable results by the way of working. The association of ANAVI with Thakurpukur Cancer Hospital and its contribution is a glaring example that ANAVI has taken great initiatives in terms of maintenance of health. On April 29, 2018, ANAVI achieved a major feat by donating an amount of INR 1,85,404 to K R LYNCH & CO to purchase two machines of Advance CPR Training MANIKIN with Monitor & printer( made by polymerized rubber). The specialty of this machine is that it is beneficial to both adults and children and helps in arresting sudden heart attack of cancer and normal patients. The availability of this machine is there at Thakurpukur Cancer Hospital.

Active April The season of April was welcomed with new and renewed spirit. The members are always in full swing to deliver their best potential for the welfare of the needy. Anavi has always been by the side of the needy and has helped in a possible way. It has undertaken a very special initiative to help the visually impaired couples on their marriage. In tune with this, Anavi is helping both the couples with Rs 5000/- each in kind. As per the discussion and consent of the members the following gifts have been finalized for each:
* One LPG Oven
* One Stand Fan
* One double Bed sheet
* One double Bed cover
* One pair of pillow cover

As per the normal course of action, Mustrad was donated to Voice of World and that will be done at the end of March.
