ANAVI Team Mumbai celebrated Elder’s Day on 01st October with the inmates of Old Age Home run by Little Sisters of The Poor. ANAVI Volunteers carried party props for the Elders of the Home and played the game of Housie with them which is their favourite.
Some beautiful experiences shared by our volunteers:
“The Happiness in their eyes and eagerness to play was an amazing sight to behold. And those who won prizes for the game were overjoyed just like little children. I thank God for this opportunity and ANAVI for making me a part of this wonderful Team that works towards making a difference in someone’s life.”

“Indeed it was a big delight to see all of the elders beaming with that radiance and joy. It will be 2 years this December that we have been visiting them. Every encounter with them whether a sing song session/ housie or even just purely listening/ conversing with them has touched the deepest core of my heart.”
~Venezia D’Silva
“It was a very happy and a joyful evening for the inmates as we played the Housie game. We could see them visibly happy and participating in the game as well as the photo session. May God Love, Protect and bless them and their caretakers abundantly.”
~Celine Mendonsa
“It was a wonderful experience. The warmth one receives in company of elderly people can’t be described. And it was such a delight to see the glow and happiness on their faces with their blessings showering around everywhere. All they look forward to, at this age, is some quality time, which is what hopefully we were able to achieve.”

“The pleasure/ satisfaction I have got from this visit cannot be explained in words. I promise that I will be a much more active member especially for this old age home. I felt that it gave me more happiness than what I would have given to them.”

“It was a pleasant experience to visit The Old Age Home and spend some time with the elders present there. Especially during the housie game, I was touched to see them smiling for a longer period of time.”
