Blood Donation Camp

When did you save a life? Yesterday, today and tomorrow is the answer every blood donor can give. Blood donor are undoubtedly unsung heroes, who save lives of people without actually meeting them. James Harrison – man with a golden arm man who had donated blood 1000 times to end up saving lives of 2.4 million baby lives. Well he is a definitely a special one but his story also tells us that blood donation does not cause any harm to one’s body but gives a life to someone. In Dehradun region we require 2500 Units of blood every month. Therefore Seafarer and their families need to do their bit by way of blood donation.

Keeping this tradition alive, Anglo Eastern Ship mgmt. in association with Dehradun seafarer welfare Association and IMA Blood Bank organized it`s 3rd Blood donation camp on 19-May-2018 at AESM Dehradun Office.

Total of 69 people registered for blood donation, out of which, 56 candidates were only allowed to donate by doctors after conducting basic medical check-up required prior donation.

Donors were given refreshments, coffee mugs (with Blood donation recognition imprinted) and a certificate of appreciation for this service to humanity. A confidential blood test report shall be provided to the donors by IMA Blood Bank later. A DONOR’s card was also provided to the Donors to facilitate them with an extraordinary service of getting blood units (of any blood group) whenever required for their immediate family members from the IMA blood Bank in near future.

We believe humanity is utmost and your 1 unit of blood can be a reason of 1000 units of smile and happiness for some family. So even if you missed out on donation at Dehradun Camp you can always donate at your nearest blood donation centre and check it off your bucket list at least a few times.
