While we have taken many steps in the last few years towards reducing use of Plastic in our Office through the introduction of Stainless Steel Water Bottles at our work stations, Glass Bottles for our Guests and other such initiatives, we have realized that we cannot simply do away with Plastic . And all Plastic is not bad and we need plastic to also achieve a certain ecological balance.
One of the important aspects of the Reuse , Recycle, Reduce motto is ‘Recycling ‘.
Noting that in India 22% of Plastic does not get recycled and could end up in our Oceans and recycled plastic can be used to make a lot of goods and provide employment to 4 million people involved in the Plastic Industry, Anavi has tied up with Bisleri’s ‘Bottles for Change’ initiative to bring about a small change to our Planet.
Bottles for Change aims to create awareness among citizens about the importance of plastic recycling. When plastic is thrown in waste, it ends up in seas, oceans, drains, rivers etc. and causes pollution. So don’t treat plastic as waste. It has value even after use, just clean it, collect it and send it directly for recycling. The plastic collected is crushed into fine flakes which are then used to create non-edible carrying products such as – Cloth fabric, Hand bags, Window blinds and other useful products.
Through this initiative we will ensure channelizing all kinds of used clean plastic for recycling, thus ensuring a greener , cleaner environment. The below link has all the information about this initiative which is in many places in Mumbai.

To help in this , we have set up two Special Bins , one on the Mezzanine Floor and another on our 3rd Floor Office . Instead of throwing clean plastic waste such as bottles, containers, lids, wrappers, toys in the Waste basket ,we urge each of you to walk the distance and place them in these Bins instead. Special staff from the Bottles for Change Vans will come every Saturday or on call to collect the Plastic and take it for Recycling.
In case you are throwing any pouches /bottles with wet stuff , courtesy demands that we wash and clean them before throwing them in the special bins. You may also bring plastic from your homes to put in the bins. But please maintain hygiene at all times.
You will be pleased to know that we have also set up similar Bins at 2 Slum Schools in Chandivali and Sakinaka ,which ANAVI supports. Thus we can teach the little children and the families around the schools to respect our Environment.
